General Requirements
Those applying to any NRO opportunity must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be suitable for federal employment, as determined by a background investigation
- Be able to obtain and hold a TS/SCI security clearance, including polygraph
- Have favorable results on a pre-employment drug test
- Be available for a virtual and/or in-person interview and other applicable processing
- Register with the Selective Service System if male, over 18 years of age, and born after Dec. 31, 1959
Federal Employee Vaccination Requirement (March 2023 Update)
Currently, the requirement for all Federal civilian employees to be vaccinated is not in effect. A U.S. district court judge issued a nationwide preliminary injunction prohibiting implementation and enforcement of civilian employee vaccination requirements based on E.O. 14043. To ensure compliance with the applicable nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the federal government, to include pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Please note that this injunction is limited to implementation and enforcement of E.O. 14043, which imposes a vaccination requirement. It has no effect on enforcement of other Department of Defense required workplace safety protocols related to vaccination status, such as masking, physical distancing, testing, travel, and quarantine requirements when in effect.
