On April 23, Senator Angus King met with the NRO Top 3 in Westfield’s Innovation Collaboration Center to receive multiple mission updates from leadership in the GEOINT and SIGINT directorates. The Ground Enterprise Directorate demonstrated the capabilities of THRESHER, a global situation awareness system, to Sen. King. Prior to this discussion, Sen. King had a private informal discussion with NRO Director Dr. Christopher Scolese. Sen. King also received a constellation overview and a threat briefing.

Sen. King was elected Maine’s first Independent Senator in 2013. Prior to joining Congress, Sen. King served as the 72nd Governor of Maine. During his two terms, he focused on economic development and job creation. He also focused on reforms in education, mental health services, land conservation, environmental protection, and the delivery of state services.

Currently, Sen. King is a member of the Armed Services Committee, the Select Committee on Intelligence, the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, and the Committee on Rules and Administration.
