December 18, 2000

The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) announced a Broad Agency Announcement today to fund research and technologies designed to advance state-of-the-art technologies and increase the knowledge of emerging launch technologies and techniques.

The NRO's Office of Space Launch, Advanced Programs Division is responsible for the Broad Agency Announcement. The Advanced Programs Division investigates and develops concepts and technologies that will enable the NRO to meet future launch needs.

"Our goal is to develop technologies that provide the best possible launch capabilities for our users when and where needed in the most cost effective manner," said Col. Stephen Wojcicki, director of the Office of Space Launch.

The period of performance for proposals submitted for this BAA may be up to a maximum of one year and the maximum price of any contract awarded will be limited to $400,000 per contract.
