NRO Successfully Launches Last Titan from Cape Canaveral

| 29 April 2005 |

Into the clear night sky, a National Reconnaissance Office payload was successfully launched aboard a Titan IV-B rocket from Cape Canaveral AFS, Fla. on Apr. 29 at 8:50p.m. EDT.

After nearly 50 years of launches, this was the 168th and last of the Titan rocket family to be launched from the East Coast.

"The entire launch team was exceptional, as always. It was a picture-perfect ending to the great Titan era," said Col Chip Zakrzewski, mission director for the launch and the director of the Office of Space Launch.
