NRO Payload Takes Last Ride Aboard Titan IV

| 20 October 2005 |

A National Reconnaissance Office payload rode aboard the final launch of a Titan IV from SLC #4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA on Oct. 19, 2005 at 2:04 p.m., EDT.

"This marks the first Titan IV launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base this year and the last of the Titan IV launches; the end of an era and the beginning of a legend," said Colonel Chip Zakrzewski, Mission Director.

The Titan IV was the nation's largest expendable launch vehicle.
