Mr. Thomas C. Reed
Secretary of the Air Force, 1976-1977
Mr. Reed served as Secretary of the Air Force and Director NRO during the transition of presidential administrations. During his tenure, the electro-optical imaging systems became operational, which eliminated the need for film-return reconnaissance satellites. Following his government service, Mr. Reed served on several scientific advisory boards and presidential commissions dealing with overhead reconnaissance.
