  • August 6, 2015 - The NRO’s Intelligence Integrated System Program Office Issues New Broad Agency Announcement
    The NRO’s Intelligence Integrated System Program Office released the Prospector Program Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) on August 6, 2015. The NRO uses BAAs to solicit improvements to existing NRO capabilities, to adapt existing techniques and technologies to the NRO mission, and to develop entirely new processes, services, or tools to meet NRO needs.

    NRO’s vision, Supra et Ultra, challenges us to discover groundbreaking capabilities by adapting cutting-edge science and technology for National Security. The unclassified Prospector program seeks innovative solutions and new agile partners to solve hard intelligence problems.

    The three topics released for Fiscal Year 2015 are visualization of data, discovery of unknowns, and estimating credibility. The period of performance is for six months for a total award of $350,000. NRO seeks proposals from U.S. domestic educational institutions, non-profit and not-for-profit organizations, and private industry.

    The National Reconnaissance Office has expanded the number of released records categories, making it easier for users to find the records they’re seeking and demonstrating NRO’s commitment to fulfilling the president’s call for greater transparency and openness.

    Under Declassified Records users will now find:

  • March 31, 2015 - The NRO’s Director’s Innovation Initiative Issues New Broad Agency Announcement
    The National Reconnaissance Office is interested in receiving research and development proposals for the Director’s Innovation Initiative (DII) Program focusing on the following areas: 1) High Bandwidth Quantum Secured Communications and 2) Aperture Synthesis. The Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) declares the NRO’s intent to competitively fund research and development for innovative technologies that meet the areas of interest set forth in the BAA. The BAA can be found on the DII Home Page, accessible through the NRO’s Acquisition Resource Center website located at https://acq.westfields.net.

    Proposals are sought from U.S. domestic educational institutions, non-profit and not-for-profit organizations and private industry. Proposals may be considered from U.S. based organizations and industry that are foreign owned or controlled as long as 1) access to proscribed information is not necessary to perform the resultant contract, and 2) foreign ownership or control does not present an unacceptable security threat. Awards shall take the form of contracts only.
