The Center for the Study of National Reconnaissance supports NRO leadership and the Intelligence Community by offering insights based on history, analytical studies, and outreach programs; and works to advance the public’s understanding of the discipline of national reconnaissance.

Mission

CSNR’s primary mission is to advance and shape the Intelligence Community’s understanding of the discipline, practice, and history of national reconnaissance. We work to ensure NRO Leadership has the analytical framework and historical context to make effective policy and program decisions. Using social science and historical research, we help the NRO meet its objectives of protecting and promoting national security.
