Thousands Of US Intelligence Officers Remain Unvaccinated.

GovCon Wire (11/4, Sandoval) continues coverage that NRO has released a “request for proposals for commercial satellite imagery services to support Earth observation requirements at federal civilian, defense and intelligence agencies.” NRO “said Wednesday its Electro-Optical Commercial Layer procurement effort is open to domestic businesses and the agency expects to issue multiple contract actions in early 2022 through the program.” Troy Meink, principal deputy director of NRO, said, “The EOCL RFP is the culmination of months of collaboration with our stakeholders and is critical to meeting the needs of the national and military intelligence community.” Via Satellite (11/4, Wolfe) reports commercial companies could “bolster the NRO in broad area map making; responding to decision maker requests regarding geo-political events and natural disasters; and tracking of global events. In so doing, commercial companies may help maximize the capacity of the NRO’s monitoring and move global hot zones to lower risk ones.”
