On Aug. 24, Director Scolese delivered his keynote address on the main stage at the 36th Annual Space Symposium in Colorado Springs. During his speech, Director Scolese discussed where the NRO’s architecture is headed in the next 60 years and the importance of the partnership between the NRO and its allies.
"Since the very beginning, NRO’s mission has been to maintain and expand our crucial intelligence advantage in space, to protect and defend the U.S.,” said Director Scolese during his keynote speech, “We are constantly innovating to remain the world's leader in space-based ISR."
Also in attendance are Chief of Space Operations for the U.S. Space Force Gen. Jay Raymond, Commander of the U.S. Space Command Gen. James Dickinson and the inaugural Commander of the Space Systems Command, former Deputy Director of the NRO Lt. Gen. Mike Guetlein.

The 36th Annual Space Symposium is a week-long, combined in-person and virtual event and will include briefs from over 140 speakers. The NRO exhibit booth is located in the main hall and is staffed by a small group of NRO officers who will provide basic overview information about the NRO as well as handle media inquiries and recruiting questions. The NRO will also cover events throughout the week on social media.
