NRO Celebrates Sunshine Week March 10-16, 2024
Sunshine Week is a national initiative to promote the importance of open
government and freedom of information, and occurs annually in mid-March
along with National Freedom of Information Day on the 16th. It serves as an
opportunity to recognize and reaffirm NRO values regarding transparency and
accountability. During Sunshine Week, US Government agencies as well as
news media organizations, civic groups, libraries, and nonprofits engage in
public discussion on the importance of open government through various press
reporting; special web pages and blogs; infographics; public seminars; and
online forums or posts.

In celebration of this year's Sunshine Week (March 10-16)
COMM/IMSO/Information Review and Release Group will post 14 documents from
the NRO archives onto NRO.gov. These newly
declassified documents from 1974 include reports and memos that offer
insight into historically significant NRO programs and projects from that
time. The documents are available for review below.
