NRO Celebrates Sunshine Week March 10-16, 2024Sunshine Week is a national initiative to promote the importance of opengovernment and freedom of information, and occurs annually in mid-Marchalong with National Freedom of Information Day on the 16th. It serves as anopportunity to recognize and reaffirm NRO values regarding transparency andaccountability. During Sunshine Week, US Government agencies as well asnews media organizations, civic groups, libraries, and nonprofits engage inpublic discussion on the importance of open government through various pressreporting; special web pages and blogs; infographics; public seminars; andonline forums or posts.In celebration of this year's Sunshine Week (March 10-16)COMM/IMSO/Information Review and Release Group will post 14 documents fromthe NRO archives onto NRO.gov. These newlydeclassified documents from 1974 include reports and memos that offerinsight into historically significant NRO programs and projects from thattime.The documents are available for review below.
